Manpower Assessment Process

Assessment Checklist

Advantage Consulting Group has developed a check list to help us determine the proper staffing levels of any discipline in any facility.

The list is modified to meet the specific type of facility and the needs of the customer, but the basic premise is the same.

1. Meet with management to determine the scope of the project.

2. Obtain any available job descriptions from management and review for job specifics. (ACG can write job descriptions for companies who do not have complete paperwork).

3. Review government codes and labor con tracts to determine what requirements and limitations are included for each task.

4. Modify standard questionnaire to meet the requirements of the customer.

5. Interview Managers using questionnaire.

6. Interview direct supervisors using questionnaire.

7.Interview any employee that ACG and management deem significant to process.

8.Tour facility to determine what specific tasks are required for each worker.

9.Observe as many workers in action as possible. Be sure to include all shifts.

10. Determine the time it takes to complete each task performed by workers using observations and interviews.

11. Obtain all information on hours worked, including time off for vacation, sick time, breaks and holidays . Determine total hours per year per employee.

12.Review work orders and checklists to determine the amount and type of work required for each employee.

13. Review overtime records.

14.Develop report calculating hours needed verses hours available.

15. Make recommendations to management.
