ACG completes process improvement project at food manufacturer in the Midwest.

A manufacturer of crackers and snack food that employs approx. 300 employees contracted with Advantage Consulting Group to review their entire manufacturing process. This included, manufacturing, maintenance, warehousing, sanitation and quality assurance.

The facility wanted to improve throughput, determine the appropriate work force needed to keep this 24/7 facility operating, and review the procedures in place for the warehouse, the maintenance department, the quality department and the sanitation department.

Advantage consulting spent several weeks in the facility doing time studies, observing the manufacturing process, and interviewing key personnel at all levels. Process improvements, staffing recommendations and possible changes to the warehouse layout were evaluated.

At the completion of the project, a report outlining our observations and recommendations was submitted.
